UNICUM at the annual conference for university communication in September 2017


What communication do universities need? This question and other topics were the focus of this year’s annual conference of the Federal Association of University Communication at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. From September 19 to 21, a record number of 459 registered visitors were able to find out about the latest trends and developments in university communication in the form of lectures, workshops, best-practice examples and other formats.

Lina Boehme and Barbara Kotzulla from UNICUM gave a lecture on native advertising, one of the current magic keywords in online marketing. The two experts had a lot to tell, because hashtags and glittering unicorns are not enough here – the catalogue of requirements for successful advertising measures is long, after all, every area from SEO to social media must be integrated.

At the UNICUM Merchandising stand, visitors were able to view selected products from the new collection – including, for the first time, fashion textiles from extensively certified and sustainable production. Another premiere was celebrated by the interactive Hoodie configurator, which visitors could use to create their own designs on hoodies, T-shirts and polo shirts. The UNICUM Candybar with all kinds of sweet things provided a sweet change. And if that wasn’t enough, they could try to crack the code for the UNICUM vault and win a brand new smartphone.
